Silvia Pallecchi

Silvia Pallecchi serves as Associate Professor and Department Director of the Department of Antiquities, Philosophy, and History (DAFIST) at the University of Genoa's School of Humanities. She concurrently holds membership on the School Council of Humanities, the Board of Directors for the International Center for Italian Studies (CISI), and the DAFIST Department Board.

Her research specializes in archaeological methodologies with concentrated focus on Pompeii excavations, particularly Regio VII Insula 14. She integrates anthracology, archaeobotany, and spatial analysis to reconstruct ancient work systems, resource management, and commercial activities in Roman contexts. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges material culture studies with theoretical frameworks in archaeological practice.

Recent publications demonstrate sustained research momentum at Pompeii, examining wood usage, plant remains, and shop structures through empirical excavation data (2023-2025 campaigns).
