Dr. Sianne Gordon-Wilson is a Lecturer in Marketing and Communications at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. She holds roles as Deputy Chair of the School's Research Committee and Co-Director of the MINDS (Marketing Insights & Digital Societies) Research Group. Previously, she served as Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Portsmouth. Her research focuses on sustainable consumption, consumer behavior/psychology, and the intersection of marketing with societal issues like sustainability and diversity.
She has published in journals such as the European Journal of Marketing and Psychology & Marketing, employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Her work explores sustainable messaging, ethical marketing, and compulsive buying behaviors. She serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Consumer Behaviour and actively contributes to professional bodies like the Academy of Marketing and Marketing Ethnic Faculty Association (MEFA).
Recent grants include a 2023 British Academy/Leverhulme grant on DEIB in corporate boards, a 2022 international collaboration on compulsive buying, and a 2021 Academy of Marketing grant on recycling messaging. Awards include Reviewer of the Year from the International Journal of Consumer Studies (2021) and Journal of Consumer Behaviour (2020).
Teaching responsibilities include courses like Network and Influencer Marketing (BUSM207) and Advertising and Media Strategies (BUSM209). She advises PhD students on sustainable consumption, ethical marketing, and consumer behavior.
