Sian Leah Beilock is the 19th President of Dartmouth College and a Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences. She holds a BSc in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego and dual PhDs in Psychology and Kinesiology from Michigan State University. Her research focuses on cognitive science, particularly performance under pressure, math anxiety, and the interplay between brain, body, and learning environments. She authored Choke and How the Body Knows Its Mind, and has over 120 peer-reviewed publications. Beilock leads the EDGE Consortium, promoting diversity in the semiconductor industry. Previously, she served as President of Barnard College and Executive Vice Provost at the University of Chicago.

Her research explores how stress impacts performance, with contributions to neuroscience, education, and organizational behavior. She emphasizes translating academic findings into practical strategies for high-performance environments.

As Dartmouth’s president, she has prioritized standardized testing in admissions, expanded affordability programs, and sustainability initiatives like a $500M green investment.
