Sian Coker is Professor of Clinical Psychology at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia (UEA), where she also serves as Associate Dean for Internationalisation in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is Deputy Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies and Programme Director for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has been part of the Clinical Psychology training programme at UEA since 1994, initially in a part-time capacity.

Her primary research interests lie in Eating Disorders, Perfectionism, and Global Mental Health, with a strong focus on reflective practice in clinical training and therapeutic supervision. She also investigates challenges in hybrid teaching models and sustainability in healthcare education.
Recent publications highlight her work on cognitive behavioural therapy delivery, the limitations of hybrid teaching in clinical psychology training, and the development of reflective practice in trainees. Her research often employs qualitative methodologies and contributes to improving clinical education and mental health interventions globally.

Sian Coker is actively involved in advising PhD students and leading research projects, including an externally funded initiative with the British Council on embedding sustainability in healthcare curricula. She plays key roles in university governance through memberships in the International Executive, FMH Executive, Turing Advisory Board, and Mobility Advisory Group.
She collaborates internationally, notably with Thrive Well in Malaysia, promoting global mental health training and cross-cultural exchange in clinical psychology. Her leadership extends to national roles, including Group Chair of the Committee on Training in Clinical Psychology at the British Psychological Society.
