Dr. Shreya Vaishnav is an Assistant Professor at Palo Alto University's Graduate School of Counseling, specializing in multicultural counseling and social justice advocacy. She holds a PhD in Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), an MC in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Arizona State University (ASU), and a BA in Psychology from Duquesne University with a Business minor.
Her research focuses on microaggressions' impact on marginalized groups, effective mentoring practices, and cross-cultural counseling with immigrant populations, particularly South Asian communities. She has led workshops on navigating microaggressions in academia and developed creative strategies for student engagement in online learning environments.
Dr. Vaishnav has received prestigious awards including the AMCD Emerging Leader Award, WACES Professional Service Award, and NBCC Foundation Doctoral Minority Fellowship. She actively contributes to counseling organizations like ACA, AMCD, and CSJ, serving on executive boards and committees.
Her publications span topics such as trauma-informed supervision, somatic responses to microaggressions, and fostering social connectedness in online education. She co-authored chapters on research ethics and marginalization stress, emphasizing practical applications for mental health practitioners.
