Shin-Ichi Ohnuma

Professor Shin-Ichi Ohnuma is affiliated with the University College London Institute of Ophthalmology, where he serves as a faculty member and Director of the PhD Programme in Sensory Systems, Technology, and Therapies (SenSyt). His research focuses on age-related ocular diseases, including retinoblastoma, melanoma, glaucoma, and vascular leakage, utilizing animal models, cell biology, and bioinformatics. He has identified PRELP as a novel tumor suppressor gene and contributes to understanding astrocyte-related optic neuropathy and sleep-ocular health interactions.
