Dr. Shilin Zhang is a Research Fellow at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide. His research focuses on energy storage systems, functional nanomaterials, and materials science applications in sustainability and medicine. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, including 20 ESI Highly Cited Papers, with >9,000 citations and an h-index of 45. His work spans zinc/liquid metal batteries, CO₂ capture, high-entropy alloys, and theoretical calculations.
Dr. Zhang has secured significant funding including an ARC DECRA Fellowship ($3M AUD), 2 ARC LIEF grants, and 18 synchrotron grants. He was awarded the AINSE Early Career Research Award (2022) and Chancellor’s Commendation (2020).
His research emphasizes in situ characterization protocols and computational modeling to advance energy storage and materials science. Current projects include developing high-performance batteries and sustainable CO₂ conversion technologies.
