Dr. Sailin Liu is an ARC-funded Industry Early Career Research Fellow (IE24) at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. She serves as an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Green Electrochemical Transformation of Carbon Dioxide and is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students.
Dr. Liu specializes in developing high-energy-density batteries with high safety and long cycling lives. Her research focuses on non-flammable organic electrolytes, electrolyte/electrolyte interfaces, and aqueous rechargeable battery technology. She has particular expertise in developing non-flammable electrolytes and stable electrode/electrolyte interfaces for lithium metal, Li-CO2, potassium ion, and aqueous batteries including zinc ion and lithium ion variants.
Her work demonstrates significant contributions to materials science and electrochemistry since completing her PhD in 2021. Dr. Liu has extensive experience utilizing advanced research facilities including Synchrotron FT-IR, PD and XAS beamlines.
