Germanas Peleckis is the Executive Director of UOW Research Platforms and a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong's Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials. His research focuses on elucidating materials properties using non-destructive techniques such as X-ray diffraction and thermoelectric measurements, with expertise in metals, alloys, ceramics, superconductors, and bio-materials. Over the past decade, he has transitioned to academic governance, leading major research infrastructure projects like the ARC LIEF-funded initiative to establish ultra-thin film and ultra-high pressure analysis tools in Australia.
His work spans advanced materials synthesis, structural characterization, and energy storage technologies. Recent projects include developing sodium-ion batteries with enhanced cycling stability and investigating medium-entropy alloys' microstructural evolution. He has secured significant funding through ARC and institutional grants, focusing on solid-state batteries and infrastructure development.
Dr. Peleckis advises graduate students on topics like superconducting thin films and phase transformations in entropy alloys. His contributions extend to managing interdisciplinary research platforms, bridging fundamental materials science with applied engineering solutions.
