Dr. Khay See is an Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong's Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM). He serves as Interim Assistant Director for ISEM/EIS and holds dual industry-academic expertise in superconductors and large-scale battery systems. His research focuses on bridging academic innovations with industrial applications, particularly in battery management systems for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage.
Dr. See has secured ~$7.5M in research funding over five years, including an ARC Discovery Project on sodium-ion battery cathodes. He actively contributes to standards development via Standards Australia for underground coal battery applications. Current supervisory work includes projects applying machine learning to battery diagnostics and high-entropy cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries.
His research interests span energy storage solutions, mining electrification, and power conversion systems. Notable achievements include pioneering battery management systems for lithium-ion packs used in automotive and renewable sectors.
