Sherri L. Smith serves as a Graduate Adjunct faculty member in the College of Liberal Arts at Hamline University. An acclaimed author across multiple genres and formats, she has earned prestigious recognition including the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Golden Kite Award and California Book Award Gold Medal for her contributions to young adult literature.
Smith's creative practice spans contemporary, historical, and speculative fiction alongside nonfiction and comics. Her work consistently centers underrepresented narratives, exploring cultural identity through lenses of race, gender, and historical context.
