Shelton Giwa is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Lead in Marketing at De Montfort University, affiliated with the Leicester Castle Business School under the Faculty of Business and Law. He holds a PhD in Digital Marketing & Consumer Culture and actively contributes to teaching, research, and academic leadership.

Shelton's research lies at the intersection of digital marketing, consumer culture, and pedagogy. His work explores how mobile technologies, location-based services, and social media shape consumer behavior and educational experiences. He investigates themes such as consumer privacy, mobile learning, and the rise of ‘edusumers’—students as active consumers of education.
The trend in his recent publications shows a strong focus on location-based services (LBS) and mobile-enhanced learning, using qualitative methods like netnography. His research spans marketing, consumer behavior, and educational innovation, reflecting a dual expertise in both academic disciplines.
