Shauna Labman

Shauna Labman is an Associate Professor of Human Rights at Global College, University of Winnipeg, with a research focus on international legal frameworks, refugee resettlement, and Canadian citizenship. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of British Columbia (2013).

Her work intersects human rights, international law, and policy debates, notably through the Citizenship from Coast to Coast to Coast conference series (2010–2011), which examined Canadian citizenship in diverse regional contexts. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (since 2004).

Shauna has received research support from the Trudeau Foundation, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), and the Liu Institute for Global Issues. Her academic contributions include collaborating with scholars on policy dialogues and local community engagement.
