Pooja Parmar is an Associate Professor and holder of the President’s Chair in Law and Indigeneity in a Global Context at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Her work bridges legal pluralism, Indigenous rights, and ethical practice. She teaches legal ethics, property law, and international human rights law.

- PhD in Law from UBC (2013)
Research focuses on Indigenous legal systems, colonial legal frameworks, and ethical lawyering. Her 2015 monograph examines Indigenous resistance to corporate projects in India, while her 2020 award-winning paper addresses cultural competence in legal education. Current projects include SSHRC-funded studies on Indigenous laws in British Columbia.
- Recipient of CALT Prize (2020)
Leads the National Centre for Indigenous Laws (launching 2025), serves as Vice President of the Canadian Association for Legal Ethics (CALE), and contributes to the Canadian Journal of Law & Society editorial board.
