Catherine Dauvergne, KC, is a Professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. She holds a B.A., M.A. (Carleton), LL.B. (UBC), and Ph.D. (ANU). Her research focuses on refugee law, immigration law, citizenship law, and feminist legal critiques. She served as Dean of Allard Law from 2015–2020.
Key roles include Fellow of the Trudeau Foundation (2012) and Queen’s Counsel (2019). Her work explores the intersection of migration policies, human rights, and gender, with notable publications like The New Politics of Immigration and Making People Illegal.
Research interests include transnational law, public law, and the theoretical underpinnings of border control. Her recent work examines crimmigration, humanitarian responses to displacement, and legal education reform.
