Shaun's research combines critical discourse analysis of political speeches and autoethnographic methods, drawing from his experiences as a former primary school teacher and ESOL instructor. His work has been featured in a CSPACE conference.
His MA dissertation examined the term 'cultural capital' in education policy and included an autoethnographic reflection on an Ofsted inspection, which inspired his book chapter Old Books for Hungry Children (2022). He supervises student dissertations and shares insights with doctoral students via the PgCert module.
