Sharon Rossiter is a Professor and Head of the Centre for Research in Mechanisms of Disease and Drug Design at the University of Hertfordshire's School of Life and Medical Sciences. Her expertise spans medicinal chemistry, drug design, and synthetic chemistry. She holds a BSc from King's College London and a PhD in quinoline synthesis for parasitic disease treatment.
- Education:
- BSc Chemistry, King's College London
- PhD in Synthesis of Quinolines with Anthelmintic Activity, King's College London
Her research focuses on cancer drug targets, antibiotic-restoring peptides, anti-inflammatory natural product analogues, and cardiovascular probes. She has led projects on S100P inhibitors for pancreatic cancer and computational studies of plant-derived anti-diabetic compounds.
Key projects include developing novel therapies for pancreatic cancer and investigating antimicrobial resistance through peptide design. Her work integrates synthetic chemistry with clinical applications, particularly in pharmacy and disease mechanisms.
