Professor Adrian Dobbs is a Professor of Organic Chemistry and Head of the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at the University of Surrey. He holds a BSc (1st Class Honours) and PhD from King's College London (1992–1996), with postdoctoral research at the Université catholique de Louvain. His career includes roles at GSK, the Open University, University of Exeter, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Greenwich. He leads research in synthetic methodology, heterocyclic chemistry, and medicinal chemistry, with a focus on natural product synthesis and drug discovery.

Research interests include:
- Development of new synthetic methods for heterocyclic systems

Key awards include the Royal Society of Chemistry Inspirational Member Prize (2015) and the University Alliance Professionals Prize (2021). His work spans academic and industrial partnerships, emphasizing sustainability and green chemistry. He currently oversees a research group with 5 PhD students and 2 postdoctoral fellows.
