Sharon MacKechnie

Sharon MacKechnie is the Depute Programme Director and Course Organiser at the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh. She holds roles in teaching and managing undergraduate courses, including MA Physical Education and BSc Sport Management. Her work focuses on Physical Education pedagogy, leadership, and event management, with experience spanning school teaching, national resource development, and major international sports events like the London 2012 Olympics and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Her career combines academic leadership with practical expertise in event operations, including roles as Event Operations Manager for the 2017 Badminton World Championships and Championships Director for the Scottish National Championships.
