Sharon Johnston is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing Foundations and Science at MacEwan University, where she has served as a full-time continuing faculty member since 2009. With a Master of Science (University of Alberta) and a background as a Registered Nurse, her expertise spans pediatrics, emergency care, critical care, and health promotion. She previously coordinated advanced life support education across Alberta and the Northwest Territories and has conducted international healthcare training initiatives in Brunei Darussalam and Florida.
Her research and scholarly work focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning, population health, social justice, and caring communication. Notable projects include optimizing blended learning models for nursing education and exploring open-book examinations as pedagogical tools.
