معرفی
Sharon E. Ashbrook is a Professor and Deputy Head of School in the School of Chemistry at the University of St Andrews. She leads the EaSTCHEM research group, focusing on solid-state NMR spectroscopy combined with first-principles calculations. Her work addresses structural and dynamic properties of materials relevant to chemistry, geology, and materials science.
Education:
- MChem in Chemistry, Hertford College, University of Oxford
- DPhil in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, University of Oxford
Research Interests: Solid-state NMR method development, NMR applications for inorganic materials, and first-principles calculations for NMR parameters. Current focus includes high-pressure minerals, microporous frameworks, and ceramic materials for nuclear waste encapsulation.
Recent Articles Trends: Recent publications emphasize structural analysis of minerals (e.g., wadsleyite), stability of metal-organic frameworks, and methodological advances in solid-state NMR. These studies bridge theoretical and experimental approaches to materials characterization.
Awards:
- Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award (2015)
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2016)
- RSE Makdougall Brisbane Medal (2012)
- Lord Kelvin Prize (2023)
- Leading the UK 1.2GHz NMR Facility (EPSRC, 2023–2027)
- ZeoMOFs project (EPSRC, 2022–2025)
- Decarbonising the Acrylic Value Chain (EPSRC, 2021–2026)
Grants & Projects:
