Dr. Sharath Srinivasan is a Lecturer in Governance and Human Rights and the David and Elaine Potter Professor of International Politics at the University of Cambridge. He serves as Co-Director of the Centre of Governance and Human Rights (CGHR) and is a Fellow of King's College.

His research focuses on the politics and ethics of external intervention in civil conflicts (particularly in Sudan and South Sudan), the role of new information and communication technologies in political change across sub-Saharan Africa, and interdisciplinary approaches to governance and human rights. He collaborates with African researchers like Professor Christof Heyns and Professor Winnie Mitullah, and co-founded the non-profit Africa’s Voices to amplify citizen voices through digital communications.
Sharath is actively involved in policy-oriented research through CGHR, a multidisciplinary center aimed at influencing governance practices. He holds leadership roles in institutions like the Rift Valley Institute and the British Institute in Eastern Africa. His work intersects with the University of Cambridge's global challenges initiatives, particularly addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and development in ODA-target countries.
