Shana Levin is a Crown Professor of Psychology and George R. Roberts Fellow at Claremont McKenna College (CMC). She has held significant administrative roles including Associate Dean of the Faculty for Research (2016-2020, 2021-2022), Co-Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs (2020-2021), and Department Chair (2011-2013).
- Education: Ph.D. and M.A. from UCLA, B.A. from UC Berkeley, and Executive Leadership Academy Fellow at UC Berkeley
Research Focus: Cross-cultural intergroup conflict, prejudice, and dominance structures. Her work examines how emotions, social identity, and power dynamics influence intergroup relations, particularly in Middle Eastern contexts.
Publication Trends: Recent articles analyze empathy's role in supporting violence, cultural responses to diversity policies, and layered power structures affecting intergroup dynamics. Keywords include Political Psychology, Social Dominance, and Intergroup Emotions.
