Associate Professor Shan Zhou is an academic at the University of Sydney Business School's School of Accounting. She holds a PhD from UNSW (2015), alongside MPhil and MPACC degrees. Her research focuses on non-financial reporting (sustainability, climate, ESG) and auditing assurance mechanisms. Key areas include integrated reporting connectivity, climate-related disclosure credibility, and ESG metrics in executive compensation.
Her work has received $720k+ ARC funding, including a DECRA (2023) for climate reporting research. She supervises PhD/honors students and teaches auditing courses like ACCT3014 and BUS S4102. She serves on editorial boards for Abacus and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, and leads special issues on climate-related reporting.
