Shaista Kanwal

Shaista Kanwal is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Agder. Her work bridges mathematics education and digital learning environments.

• Education: PhD in Mathematics Education (2020), M.Phil in Mathematics (2015), M.Sc. in Mathematics (2007)

Research Interests: Focus on mathematics education at university level, mathematical modeling pedagogy, eye-tracking technology for learning analysis, covariational reasoning, and digital resource integration in mathematics teaching.

Academic Leadership: Leads the Mathematics in Higher Education research group within MERGA and chairs the Research Education Committee for the PhD program in Mathematical Sciences (FDM).

Teaching: Coordinates MA-455 Research Methods for associate degree programs and teaches MA-607 Quantitative Methods for doctoral students. Supervises two PhD fellows and multiple master’s theses annually.
