Shahzad Ansari is a Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the University of Cambridge’s Cambridge Judge Business School, where he also serves as Head of the Strategy and International Business subject group. He holds a joint appointment as a Professorial Fellow at St Edmund’s College and is an Honorary Professor at University College London (UCL). His research focuses on strategic innovation, institutional change, social movements, and grand challenges, with a particular emphasis on reputation management, platform ecosystems, and cross-sector partnerships. Ansari has contributed to executive education programs for global firms such as McKinsey, Shell, and UNICEF, and consults for organizations like Thinfilms in the thin-film technology sector.
He holds a MPhil and PhD from the University of Cambridge. His work explores topics including framing processes in social movements, the diffusion of management practices, and the governance of transnational commons. Ansari serves on the editorial boards of leading journals like Academy of Management Journal and Strategic Management Journal, and has authored influential studies on disruptive innovation, corporate social responsibility, and the ethics of emerging technologies.
His research on yoga’s commercialization, corporate corruption, and AI decision-making has been featured in media outlets like the Financial Times and Harvard Business Review. Ansari’s interdisciplinary approach bridges management theory with practical business challenges, emphasizing responsible innovation and systemic solutions to global issues.
