Sezer Kisa is a Professor of Global Health Care at the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion, Faculty of Health Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). She received her PhD in Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, in 2007. With over twenty-five years of teaching experience at various levels, from undergraduate to doctoral programs, Kisa has made significant contributions to nursing education.
Dr. Kisa has established a solid international presence through collaborations with institutions in the USA, Malta, Finland, Norway and several other European Union countries. She serves as the research group leader for migration and minority health at OsloMet.
Her research interests span multiple critical areas in global health, including:
- Global health systems and policies
- Women's and youth health issues
- Social inequality in healthcare access
- Violence against women
- Nursing education and practice
- Migration and minority health
Dr. Kisa's scholarly output demonstrates a strong focus on global health challenges, particularly those affecting vulnerable populations. Many of her recent publications are part of the Global Burden of Disease Study, reflecting her engagement with large-scale international health research collaborations.
Among her notable recognitions, Dr. Kisa was awarded the 2023 R&D award from OsloMet for her contributions to research.
