Dr. Sezer Yilmaz is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in National Defense University, specializing in Arabic Translation and Interpreting. She has an extensive academic background in translation studies, with a focus on legal and cultural aspects of translation.
- BA in Arabic Translation and Interpreting (Kırıkkale University, 2015)
- MA in Arabic Language and Rhetoric (Ankara University, 2017)
- PhD in Translation and Cultural Studies (Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, 2021)
Her research focuses on legal translation, translation theory, translation criticism, translation aesthetics, and translation strategies and techniques. She has professional experience in judicial institutions and international organizations before transitioning to academia.
On April 29, 2024, she made history as the first Turkish academician to progress from undergraduate studies in Arabic Translation to the title of Associate Professor in the same field.
