Earlier works (2017-2002) examine university students' metaphorical perceptions of Arabic, historical grammatical debates, and thematic analyses of pre-Islamic poetry. Her research consistently addresses Turkey-specific challenges in teaching Arabic as a foreign language within religious education frameworks.
Prof. ÖZDEMİR actively mentors graduate students through doctoral thesis committees and master's/doctoral seminars. Her editorial contributions include co-editing research volumes on religious education for disabled individuals (2015-2016) and values education in universities (2018-2020), demonstrating commitment to broader educational discourse beyond her core specialization.
