Dr. Seth Brown is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at RMIT University and Head of UNEVOC. With over 27 years in higher education, he focuses on socio-cultural influences on identity construction and youth wellbeing in the Anthropocene. His research explores education's role in shaping young people's resilience and enterprise amid global challenges like climate change and pandemic recovery.
He leads projects funded by institutions such as the NSW Department of Education and the Collier Charitable Fund. His work integrates Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into education systems, emphasizing quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), and climate action (SDG 13). He coordinates initiatives like the Young People’s Futures Lab and contributes to global education discourse through platforms like The Conversation.
His articles analyze youth resilience in crises, LGBTQ+ marginalized communities in Pakistan, and the intersection of political economy with lifelong learning. He advocates for transformative education policies to address socio-ecological inequities and foster sustainable futures.
