Jessica Balanzategui is an Associate Professor in Media and Cinema at RMIT University's School of Media and Communication. She holds an Australian Research Council (ARC) Industry Fellowship (2025-27) focusing on young people's streaming media cultures and leads an ARC Discovery Project on children's engagement with 'gamble-play' media. She is the Founding and Chief Editor of Amsterdam University Press's Horror and Gothic Media Cultures book series.
