Dr. Serge Engamba is an Academic General Practitioner (GP) and Research Fellow at the Exeter Collaboration for Academic Primary Care (APEx), hosted by the University of Exeter. He serves as the Research Lead for the Norwich North Primary Care Network (PCN) and practices clinically at Oak Street Medical Practice in Norwich. His work bridges clinical practice, research, and leadership, with a focus on improving evidence-based care in primary care settings.
His research priorities include relational continuity of care, exploring interventions to enhance patient-clinician relationships, and integrating commercial research into primary care through initiatives like hypertension and metabolic disease studies. He leads the Norwich PCN Research Hub, established via a successful NIHR-funded bid, which embeds research into routine clinical practice.
Dr. Engamba’s leadership roles include Deputy Chair of the Primary Care Academic Collaborative (PACT) and co-founder of the Norwich Primary Care Research Forum, fostering networks to empower clinicians in research. His contributions have been recognized with awards such as the RCGP/NIHR First5® Award and the NIHR CRN East of England Research Award.
