Serena Rodriguez is an Assistant Professor at the Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences Department of the School of Public Health, UTHealth Houston, based in Dallas. She co-leads CoLab (Community, Connection, and Collaboration), focusing on substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support services centered on individuals with lived experience. Her work spans women's health, including studies on access to healthcare in rural Uganda, cervical cancer screening for women with refugee status, and cancer care delivery for women living with HIV. Prior to her academic career, she worked with a social justice organization in Brooklyn, New York.
Research Interests: Cancer, Global Health, Health Education/Behavioral Sciences, Health Equity, Social Determinants of Health, Substance Use, Women's Health.
Affiliations: Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research.
