Senthilkumar Palanisamy

Senthilkumar Palanisamy is a Visiting Faculty member at Texas Tech University (TTU), affiliated with the Texas Coalition for Sustainable Integrated Systems Research Program (TeCSIS). He also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly SRM University), Chennai, India.

• Education: Ph.D. in Biotechnology (2012) from UPASI Tea Research Institute (affiliated with Bharathiar University), Coimbatore

Research Interests: Dr. Palanisamy specializes in plant biotechnology and molecular genetics, focusing on sustainable agriculture. His work at TTU includes studying:

• Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM) fungi interactions with sorghum roots
• Molecular mechanisms of flower abortion in soybeans
• Gene editing for dhurrin-free sorghum development
• Genetic diversity analysis and phenotypic association in pecan

These projects aim to enhance crop resilience and productivity, directly benefiting agricultural communities.
