Selma Holden

Selma Holden, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., serves as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Primary Care at the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine and directs the Northern New England Clinical Champions Grant program.

Her educational background includes an M.D., M.P.H., and M.S., with residency training at Maine Dartmouth's Family Medicine Program and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Holden specializes in integrative medicine modalities including Registered Yoga Teacher certification (RYT200+), herbal medicine, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Her clinical focus centers on supporting opioid-dependent mothers through pregnancy and motherhood, while her research investigates prenatal yoga's therapeutic potential for maternal wellness and mobility alongside medication-assisted psychotherapy.

At UNECOM, she teaches Osteopathic Clinical Knowledge & Skills and the Healer’s Art curriculum to first- and second-year medical students, with clinical practice conducted through a private facility in the greater Portland area.
