Selma Carson is a Senior Lecturer in the Real Estate Group at the University of Aberdeen's Business School, joining in January 2023. Prior to this, she was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, where she established real estate as a distinct academic subject area at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including a blended learning programme delivered from Manchester and the Middle East Centre in Dubai.
Her research interests focus on real estate, commercial property, valuation, urban planning and development, and the built environment. She has contributed significantly to curriculum development and academic leadership in real estate education.
Selma is actively engaged in professional practice and academic service, holding fellowships and leadership roles in key institutions.
