Selina Thomalla is a researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Vienna's Department of Economic and Social History. She is affiliated with the ongoing ÖAW Go!digital project „ViTA. Manorial Networks in the Medieval Tyrol“ and leads the PhD project „Anatomie eines Stadtviertels – Das Wiener Widmerviertel im frühen 16. Jahrhundert“. Her research focuses on urban history, medieval social structures, and digital humanities methodologies.
Education: Holds a B.A. and M.A., currently pursuing a PhD in Economic and Social History at the University of Vienna.
Key research interests include historical GIS mapping, tax record analysis, and urban topography of early modern Vienna. She actively participates in interdisciplinary collaborations like the Berlin-Oxford-London Cooperation.
Recent conference contributions include presentations at the International Medieval Congress Leeds (2024) and the Österreichische Mediävistik conferences (2023-2024). Her work bridges archival research with digital tools to visualize urban socio-economic dynamics.
