Sebastiano Moruzzi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Communication Studies at the University of Bologna, specializing in Philosophy of Language and Epistemology. He joined the university in 2012 as a permanent researcher, earned national qualification for associate professorship in 2013, and was promoted to his current rank in 2019. His PhD (2005) in Philosophy of Language from the University of Eastern Piedmont was followed by postdoctoral research at the Arché Centre in St Andrews (UK) and subsequent roles at the University of Bologna's Department of Philosophy and Scuola Superiore di Studi Umanistici.
Research focuses on truth pluralism, logical pluralism, vagueness, and epistemic norms. He explores topics like post-truth dynamics, epistemic filters in AI, and educational practices. Current teaching includes graduate courses in Philosophy of Language. Office hours are via TEAMS on Tuesdays 2-3pm.
Collaborates with the AION research group on philosophy education. Recent publications (2021–2025) address socio-epistemological models of disagreement, non-ideal epistemology, and active learning strategies in higher education. No formal awards listed but maintains an active international research profile.
