Sebastian Egholm Lund is a Junior Research Fellow at Linacre College, University of Oxford, affiliated with the Faculty of English Language & Literature. His research focuses on 19th-century literature, science, and ecology, with special emphasis on colonial contexts and climate narratives. He currently leads two major projects: "Empire of the Sun" examining solar energy imaginaries in colonial India, and "Climate Control and the Fiction of the Fin de Siècle" analyzing anthropogenic climate concepts in Victorian literature.
His research interests span Victorian science writing, postcolonial literature, and environmental humanities. Key themes include solar imperialism, climate control narratives, and the intersection of literature with scientific discourses on energy and environment.
Recent publications in top journals like ISLE, Nineteenth-Century Contexts, and Victorian Studies explore topics ranging from feminist aeronautics in utopian fiction to underground climate infrastructure in Victorian narratives. His work bridges literary analysis with ecological critique, offering new perspectives on historical climate imaginaries.
Lund's research has been supported through his Junior Research Fellowship at Linacre College, enabling interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of literary studies, environmental history, and colonial science.
