Sean Lawing serves as Dean of Faculty Administration and Associate Professor of History Human Society at Bryn Athyn College, where he teaches medieval history, German, Old Icelandic literature, World War II-era Germany, and European folk- and fairy tales.

Dr. Lawing specializes in medieval Scandinavian studies, with concentrated research on Old Norse legal codes and saga literature. His work examines Viking Age societal structures through primary textual analysis, bridging historical jurisprudence and cultural anthropology to illuminate Norse governance systems and mythological narratives.
