Sean Dower

Sean Dower is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton's School of Art and Media, specializing in Fine Art. He holds a Sculpture degree from Camberwell School of Art (1988-1991) and undertook postgraduate studies at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (1993-1995). His practice spans sculpture, film, performance, and sound, emphasizing viewer interaction and material exploration. Dower's work often addresses spatial and material dimensions of sound, reflecting his background in live performance and industrial music.

He has been awarded the Henry Moore Institute Fellowship (2019).

Teaching roles include the MA Fine Art Course at Brighton University and previous positions on the BA Fine Art Sculpture and Critical Fine Art Practice courses. His monograph (2018) and inclusion in Sculpture ⦁ vertical horizontal closed open (2017) highlight scholarly recognition.
