Ana María Gómez López

Ana María Gómez López is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and educator based in Amsterdam, affiliated with the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). Her practice integrates archives, libraries, and scientific collections, focusing on historic definitions of life through biological specimens, medical equipment, and lens-based media.

Her work has been exhibited at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Fonds d'art contemporain Genève, and the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave. She has participated in artist residencies at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten and Akademie Schloss Solitude.

She has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Bard College Berlin, and the Sandberg Instituut, and served as an artist mentor for Beelden in Leiden 2022. Her editorial work includes co-editing *The Colombia Reader: History, Culture, Politics* (2017). Currently, she is a member of the Animal Mobilities Working Group at the Max Planck Institute for History of Science.
