Scott Warren

Scott Warren is a Senior Lecturer and Nursing Simulation Lead at York St John University, affiliated with the School of Science, Technology and Health. He graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Nursing degree (2001), followed by an MSc in Advanced Professional Practice (2009) and a PGCE in Healthcare Education. His clinical career spans NHS roles in Yorkshire, including Advanced Clinical Practitioner positions until 2018. He joined York St John in 2022 to focus on pre-registration nursing education and developing the Clinical Simulation Unit.

Research Interests:

• Simulated learning in healthcare
• Human factors and patient safety
• Frailty management in acute and community settings

Professional Activities: Fellow of the HEA, Nursing and Midwifery Council registered, member of AAPEUK and the Yorkshire & Humber Clinical Skills & Simulation Network.

Key Contributions: Pioneered ambulatory care pathways to improve patient safety, presented on advanced practice roles, and advocates for integrating public health into clinical education.
