Scott S. Shafiei

Dr. Scott S. Shafiei is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. He joined the faculty in 2023 after completing his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch and an internal medicine residency at Baylor University Medical Center. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, he is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Dallas County Medical Society and the American College of Physicians.

His clinical and research interests focus on general internal medicine, quality improvement, and medical education. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in journals like Cardiorenal Medicine and Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism, and has served as a manuscript reviewer for these journals. Dr. Shafiei is also actively involved in teaching and has delivered presentations on his areas of expertise.

Outside academia, he enjoys family time, cooking, hiking, traveling, and music.
