Nathan DeRon, Jr.

Nathan DeRon, Jr. is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he is also a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. His clinical interests focus on utilization management, preventative medicine, and advanced heart failure. He joined the faculty in 2024 after completing his internal medicine residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Dr. DeRon holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a second B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. His research explores cardiovascular risk modification and the application of novel biomarkers in clinical practice, with findings published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at scientific conferences.

He is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and American Heart Association. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
