Scott Richardson is a dedicated faculty member at Johnson & Wales University's College of Hospitality, specializing in Food Service Management. He has taught Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality Management since 2005 and developed online hospitality courses since 2009. As an academic researcher, he has published peer-reviewed work in the British Food Journal and Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education, while also serving as an online graduate course facilitator for eCornell/Cornell University.
His research interests center on practical applications in hospitality, including food defense systems, menu analysis, and service excellence. He integrates real-world industry challenges into curriculum design, focusing on bridging theoretical concepts with operational realities in food service environments. His expertise spans strategic marketing, food code compliance, and hospitality technology implementation.
Richardson holds multiple advanced credentials including M.Sc. in Hospitality & Tourism Management from University of Central Florida and certifications as a Certified Hospitality Educator (AHLEI) and ServSafe Manager. His professional development includes a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design and ongoing training as a Certified Culinary Medicine Professional (completion 2026).
