Scott Dooley is Professor of Art and current Chair of the Department of Art at Wittenberg University, where he has served since at least 2000. He coordinates the university's Empty Bowls initiative and serves on the Springfield Peace Center Board of Directors.

Dooley's artistic practice centers on ceramics, specializing in functional pottery and sculptural vessels. His international exhibitions span over 15 countries including Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and China, with works held in permanent collections worldwide. He is particularly renowned for teapots and pitchers featured in publications like 500 Teapots and 500 Pitchers, contributing significantly to contemporary ceramic discourse through innovative forms and techniques.

As an educator, Dooley mentors art students while leading departmental initiatives. His community engagement includes the Empty Bowls project which raised $41,735 in 2013 for food security, demonstrating applied art for social impact. Dooley directs Wittenberg's Empty Bowls program, a student-driven ceramics initiative producing handmade bowls for fundraising dinners supporting Second Harvest Food Bank, while also volunteering with the Springfield Peace Center's Summer Peace Camp.
