Curt Hansman is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at DePaul University's College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences. She also serves as a board member for Global Asian Studies and Chinese Studies at the same institution.
Education:
- BA and MA in History of Art/Asian Studies, University of Oregon
- MPH and PhD in History of Art and Chinese Intellectual History, University of Kansas
Her research spans from Song/Yuan Chinese art history to modern China and Asian American cultural studies, focusing on intersections of art, politics, language, and identity. Recent work includes analysis of Yayoi Kusama's artistic contributions as cultural mirrors.
Scientific Awards:
- NEH Summer Institute Fellow (2012)
She has received grants from the Kress Foundation and The American Philosophical Society, and engages in community initiatives like the Empty Bowls Project and The Odyssey Project, addressing food insecurity and humanities education in underserved communities.
