Prof. Schelto Kruijff is a Professor and Surgical Oncologist at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Groningen. He specializes in endocrine surgery and oncology, focusing on thyroid and parathyroid cancers, molecular imaging techniques, and surgical innovation. He leads the Dutch Hyperparathyroid Study Group (DHSG) and chairs the Summer School Oncology, which trains medical students in multidisciplinary oncology approaches.
Education & Qualifications:

- TS Reeve Endocrine Surgery Fellowship (University of Sydney, 2012–2013)
- Certified Gastro-Intestinal and Oncological Surgeon (2013)

- Molecular fluorescent-guided surgery in thyroid cancer
- Imaging modalities for hyperparathyroidism (e.g., methionine PET)
- Parathyroidectomy vs. cinacalcet for secondary hyperparathyroidism (RHINO trial)
- Value-based decision-making in oncology surgery
