Professor Jonathan Serpell is a leading academic and clinical surgeon affiliated with Monash University and The Alfred Hospital. He serves as Professor of Surgery at Monash University, Director of General Surgery, and Head of the Breast, Endocrine and General Surgery Unit at The Alfred Hospital. He also leads the Breast, Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology Unit at Frankston Hospital, reflecting his national leadership in surgical oncology.

He is a key figure in the Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium, where he served as Cancer Theme Leader (2012–2016), and continues to contribute to national surgical policy and education through editorial and committee roles.
